01 — What we are
Med Matchers, LLC operates a platform that puts students who need clinical weeks in front of clinicians who can supervise them. That sentence is the whole of the business, and the rest of this page is about how carefully we mean it.
“Students” here is meant at its full width. Medical, NP and PA students booking a required rotation; international graduates arranging US clinical experience; high school students looking for a first week of shadowing. Those are the four levels the sign-up form actually records, so this is the real range and not a widened claim. The clinician sets who they are willing to teach, and the listing says what kind of placement it is, so nobody has to guess whether they are the audience.
We are precise about all of it for one reason. In this corner of medicine the gap between what a service implies and what it will actually stand behind is where people get hurt — and the students most exposed to that gap are exactly the ones this was built for. So the limits further down are not disclaimers bolted onto a mission. They are part of it.
02 — Why it is built this way
A clinical rotation is not a course a school sells. It is a working clinician agreeing to have a student in their practice for a stretch of weeks — and that decision sits with one person, in one building, with their own patients and their own tolerance for the disruption.
There is no central register of who is willing. So the student cannot find them, and the clinician has no way of being found. What gets built in that gap is usually a broker who promises a placement and then goes looking for one — which is exactly the arrangement that produces a student who has paid and has nothing.
A list is the honest structure instead. The clinician stays in control of who they take, because they are the one carrying it. The student sees the dates, the place and the price before they commit to anything. Neither of those is generous; they are just what happens when nobody is being promised something on someone else’s behalf.
03 — What the platform does
You search by a date window. A placement that cannot cover the weeks you need does not reach you, which is the opposite of how most of this is normally done.
You apply to one specific placement and the clinician supervising it decides. Nothing is auto-matched, and no one is assigned to you.
The placement cost is the listing's weekly rate multiplied by the weeks you booked, and our 5% fee is added on top and shown before you pay. The dates are the only input, so nothing is recalculated behind you.
04 — What we verify
A clinician signs up, and then waits: until we have checked both, they cannot publish a placement at all. So a listing existing here is itself the evidence that the checks were done — there is no route onto this page that skips them. On top of the two checks there is one eligibility rule: at least a year of experience in their field. Someone in their first months of practice cannot take a student here.
Medical license
We verify that the clinician holds a current medical license.
Practice location
We verify that the address on the listing is where they practice.
Not checked
We do not assess teaching quality, review malpractice history, confirm hospital privileges, or guarantee which clinician supervises you on a given day. And the years of experience on a listing is a figure the clinician states — we require it to be at least one, but we do not audit it the way we audit the license. We check who they are and where they work. That is the extent of it, and a verified badge should not be read as more.
05 — Where we stop
These are not softeners at the bottom of a marketing page. Every one of them is in the student agreement, which is worth reading before you pay rather than after.
We do not place you
You apply and the clinician accepts or declines, at their sole discretion. Being on the site is not a queue you move up, and we do not allocate students to anyone.
We do not supervise
The clinician runs the placement in their own practice, to their own standard. They set the schedule, the expectations and what you are allowed to do. We are not there.
We are not a school
We do not provide medical education, set curriculum or award academic credit. Whether your institution will recognize a placement is a question for your institution — and it is worth asking before you pay, not after.
We do not employ the clinicians
Everyone listing here is an independent provider. Not our employee, not our agent, not our contractor. Their practice is theirs.
We do not sponsor visas
We cannot advise on immigration status and a booking is not a basis for one. If you need a visa to be in the country, that is a separate process we have no part in.
We do not guarantee an outcome
Not a residency, not a letter of recommendation, not a particular number of hours, and not that any given clinician will be present on any given day.
06 — How the money works
Each listing sets its own weekly rate and the clinician sets it. That rate, multiplied by the weeks your dates imply, is the placement cost. As a student you pay that plus a 5% platform fee — there is no charge to search, no account fee and no application fee.
Clinicians are paid out of the placement cost under a separate arrangement with us. It changes nothing about your side: the 5% above is the whole of what MedMatchers adds to your bill, and no part of the clinician’s arrangement is charged to you.
The placement cost, the 5% fee and the total are on screen before you are sent to pay. Payment is taken before a placement goes ahead, and fees are non-refundable except where our refund policy says otherwise. We would rather you read that sentence here than discover it later — it is the cancellations and refunds section of the terms.
Paying submits your application. It does not confirm a placement: the clinician still has to accept it, and they may not.
